Back in September 2020, when things in my life started to go south, I jumped on a plane to finally meet a friend I made online: Marc Steiner.
All I needed at the time was to go somewhere to clear my head. So one night I decided to go, called Marc and a week later I was Far North Queensland.
Marc is a visual artist and a socialist at heart. What I didn’t expect is that I would find, in Far North Queensland, family.
I have an amazing family, back in Brazil. They are really far away and although we FaceTime all the time, it’s a very long distance. And I do have a few people here in Brisbane, some are actual family and some I consider family too, but what I found in Cairns is hard to explain.
So, since September 2020, I’ve been there 4 times. I even drove up on Christmas day. 1700Km for someone like me, who doesn’t exactly love driving… and there was the drive back too!!! Totally worth it, although I don’t see myself driving there, I’ll stick to flying for now.
Anyway, when I was there in February, the Social Shoot Soirée, an event organised by Marc and his trusted friends, was on. When I go to Cairns I try to take my film cameras and no digital cameras, unless I have worked booked, so I only take behind the scenes photos of the event and some portraits of my family, as it grows.
So here are some photos of the last trip in July 2021 and some from February 2021, December 2020 and September 2020, that I never posted.
I hope you enjoy.
